How do I build my database?

First, you’ll kick off the program with a “Dog Day” to make swabbing fun, or schedule resident appointments so they can swab their own pet at the leasing office. Managers will take our DNA collection kits and enter the pet and residents info into the property account on the DNA World Pet Registry. Next, mail the swab back to the lab in its self-addressed, postage-paid envelope. And we take care of the rest. It’s that simple!

How long will it take to get the DNA from a Registration Swab or Waste Sample?

Once the lab receives the swab or waste sample, we will have the DNA results within 7 days.

Does it take a long time to get started?

Both swabs and waste collection containers will remain usable, as long as they remained sealed prior to use.

Will the DNA Registration Swab determine breed?

No, this is a cellular DNA test, which matches the cells of the dog's mouth cells to the dog's intestinal cells.

Where should the DNA Registration Swab be performed?

Most management companies ask the resident to swab their dog in front of the office staff, for accountability.

Will the DNA Registration Swab reveal if it is a cat or other animal?

The DNA swab is for a canine only. The lab will know if it is a dog, cat or other animal.
